Curtsies!) with Queen Elizabeth Originally posted 06/04/2012 07:00 AM Credit: Courtesy of Mark Ballas Mark Ballas has rocked a gold lamé tuxedo and a matador's jacket on Dancing with the Stars, but in Surrey, England, for the Epsom Derby – which kicked off celebrations for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee – a last-minute search for a top hat was enough to cause him serious stress. "I ended up finding one 10 minutes before the shop closed," the ballroom pro, 26, told PEOPLE of his day-long hunt around London for the old-school accessory required for the horse race. Ballas had been invited to Saturday's event – for which men are also required to wear tails or "morning jackets" – by former Dancing partner (and season runner-up) Katherine Jenkins, the Welsh opera star who sang the British national anthem for the Queen and the 130,000-strong crowd. The princesses were part of a large royal party, which also included their dad Prince Andrew, as the family began the weekend of fun to mark 60 years on the throne for the Queen. Their mother, Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, even Tweeted: "So proud of my of my beautiful daughters and how special to be at the Epsom Derby supporting their Granny what an amazing Grandmother the Queen is." On Saturday at the Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas, Maksim Chmerkovskiy was photographed kissing fellow professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd, who took home the mirror ball trophy with Donald Driver last week. That wasn't the only time the hard-bodied pair and rumored couple were spotted together in Sin City. Witnesses have seen them together all over Vegas, and the dancers appeared to be quite cozy on the East Coast recently, as well. But he says it felt just as good. "I think it's the same," the football pro told PEOPLE backstage after DWTS, comparing his most recent feat to when his Green Bay Packers team won the Super Bowl in 2011.
